17 improvements in one month
In March 2026, Heyloha shipped 17 improvements to the AI agent platform. From a completely new voice model for the phone agent to a smarter AI model for all your chat agents.
The main updates: realtime voice technology for the phone agent, an upgrade from GPT-4.1 to GPT-5.4 Mini for smarter chat conversations, 95% accurate language detection, file sharing in chat and a new expert mode for your agent settings.
Phone agent: realtime voice technology
The phone agent received the biggest upgrade. We switched to the OpenAI Realtime API, the production version of their voice technology. The difference is immediately noticeable: faster responses, more natural intonation and smoother conversations.
Dutch speech recognition has improved significantly through language-specific tuning and noise suppression. Callers are now understood much better, even in noisy environments.
The phone agent also searches your knowledge base during the call and gives callers accurate answers from your own content. Changes to your instructions take effect immediately on the next call.
Chat agent: GPT-5.4 Mini
All your chat agents now run on GPT-5.4 Mini, the latest model from OpenAI. This is a major step up from the previous GPT-4.1 model. The agent reasons better, retains context longer and responds more naturally.
This applies to all your channels: the chat widget on your website, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Instagram. Customers notice the difference. Conversations feel less like a chatbot and more like a colleague who thinks along.
Messages are also streamed faster, making the experience feel smoother.
Improved language tracking
Language detection has improved drastically. In 95% of cases, the agent now correctly switches to the visitor's language. Previously, the agent often kept speaking Dutch even when the visitor wrote in a different language. That problem is solved.
When the language is not immediately clear, the agent looks at the visitor's browser settings. Dutch, English, German, Arabic, it does not matter. No configuration needed, it works fully automatically.
The entire Heyloha platform is now available in 5 languages: Dutch, English, German, French and Spanish. The interface, settings and all emails adapt to your language preference.
Webhook integrations: connect your agent to your business tools
With the new webhook integrations, you can connect Heyloha to your existing business software. When a visitor shares contact details via the chat, your agent automatically forwards that data to your CRM, email marketing tool or any other system that supports webhooks.
An example: realtors using Keyvue can have leads from AI conversations flow directly into their CRM, without any manual data entry. The same applies to any system with a webhook endpoint.
You can add, edit and remove webhooks from the settings page. No code needed. A company-wide toggle lets you enable or disable all webhooks at once.
File sharing in chat
Visitors can now share files in the chat widget. PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CSV and more. Up to 5 files per message, each up to 20 MB.
The AI agent reads the document and responds to it immediately. Useful when a visitor wants to discuss an invoice, specification or quote. This also works via WhatsApp and other channels.
Expert mode: fully custom instructions
Want full control over what your agent says and does? With the new expert mode, you write your own instructions. Create an agent that writes property descriptions for real estate agents, or builds meal plans for gym members.
Expert mode is optional. Your existing settings keep working as before. But for power users who want to fine-tune their agent, this opens up a world of possibilities.
App improvements
Source citations now appear as clickable inline links in chat messages. Visitors can click through to the right page on your website. Invalid or duplicate sources are filtered automatically.
A Heyloha support agent is built into the app. Ask your question directly from the dashboard, without switching to email or another channel.
The dashboard and inbox load noticeably faster. Also new: a redesigned login page and onboarding, revamped email templates in the Heyloha brand style and the ability to pass known visitor data to the chat widget.

We published 23 help articles in the knowledge base and wrote 25 blog posts about AI applications in sectors like hospitality, retail, healthcare and real estate.
