“Heyloha has helped us enormously in improving our phone support. The AI agent speaks good Dutch, is easy to set up and offers a lot of flexibility with call transfers, time slots and webhook integrations.”
Common challenges for lawyers
- Callers reach nobody during a hearing
- While you are in a hearing or with a client, the phone goes unanswered. Someone who cannot reach you usually rings the next firm on their list.
- Intake spends time on matters you will not take
- A share of callers have a matter outside your practice areas. Working that out costs your secretariat time every day that leads nowhere.
- Urgency is hard to separate over the phone
- An expiring deadline and a general enquiry sound the same on the phone. Without triage, the urgent call slips down the list.
How Heyloha solves this
- Every call answered
- The assistant picks up during hearings, in the evening and at weekends. Callers get an answer instead of voicemail.
- An intake you can actually use
- The assistant asks the questions you specify: practice area, opposing party, deadline. You read the transcribed conversation back in your dashboard.
- Urgency recognised and transferred
- When the assistant recognises urgency according to your instructions, it transfers warm to the solicitor on duty. If nobody picks up, a callback request goes out by e-mail.

What an AI phone assistant does in a law firm
Updated 23 September 2026
Intake instead of voicemail
The most expensive call in a law firm is the one nobody answers. The caller has just decided to seek legal help, is about to choose, and hears voicemail. That is exactly the moment someone rings the next firm.
The assistant picks up instead and asks the questions you have specified: what the matter concerns, who the opposing party is, whether a deadline is running. You open your dashboard and read the conversation back, transcribed, with the answers set out. You know before you call back whether this is a matter for your firm.
What the assistant does not do
The assistant does not give legal advice. It answers questions from the information you supply, records the intake, books appointments and transfers calls. Anything that calls for a professional judgement goes to a person.
It does not make outbound calls either. Heyloha answers incoming calls; outgoing conversations stay with your team.
Confidentiality
Calls are transcribed, not recorded. The text sits in your dashboard, on servers in the EU, and you sign a data processing agreement with us.
You decide what is asked. The assistant follows the instructions you set yourself, so you stay in control of which details come up on the phone.
What it costs
Plans start at 149 euro a month for 250 credits, excluding VAT. Phone calls cost 1 credit per whole call minute, rounded down, with a minimum of 1 credit per call.
You keep your own number and forward it to Heyloha. If you need several numbers, an extra phone agent costs 9 euro a month.
